IDEA Compliance Coach / Resource Teacher
Reports To: Director of Exceptional Student Services and Principal
Qualifications
- Arizona Special Education Teacher Certification
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
- Special education classroom teaching experience preferred
- Mentoring or instructional coaching experience preferred
- Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education compliance
Position Overview
The IDEA Compliance Coach/Resource Teacher is a split position that provides direct special education services to students while supporting special education staff with IDEA compliance, IEP development, progress monitoring, and effective instructional practices.
Essential Duties
- Provide specially designed instruction to students based on their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Manage an assigned special education caseload, including developing, implementing, and monitoring compliant IEPs.
- Facilitate IEP meetings and maintain required special education documentation.
- Monitor student progress and report progress toward IEP goals.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, families, related service providers, and school staff to support student needs.
- Coach and support special education teachers with IEP development, goal writing, progress monitoring, and IDEA compliance.
- Model effective special education instructional strategies and provide guidance on accommodations, modifications, and specially designed instruction.
- Support teachers with district special education procedures and required timelines.
- Assist with alternate assessment planning and implementation.
- Provide professional learning and individualized coaching based on staff needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
